ellips is…
Those dots have been there from the very beginning. It started practically: I needed to find my pots on a crowded class shelf, and the nearest stamp was the back of a trimming tool. It was ages before I realized they weren’t just dots—they’re a symbol for everything I love about making pots. The contemplative act of craft. The what if I tried… moment that leads somewhere unexpected. The way time drifts and dissolves when on the wheel. The glyph and the word itself are also fitting: circles, multiples, cycles, contemplation, repetition, wonder, iteration. And so, Ellipsis…
I like making pots because they become vessels for so much we love: hot soup on a cold day, fresh flowers to lighten our spaces, any kind of noodle, fresh coffee, magical potions, that dish by your front door, sugary cereal snacks, a sip of scotch, your wedding rings, exotic salts, cream, sugar, wishes…
I hope you love the pots, and all you put into them.
Cheers, Eric
